Patrice Schneider started his publishing career as a journalist reporting from conflicts in Central Asia in the 1980s. Following a 15 years career in publishing (AOL Time Warner Group, Hachette Filipacchi Media), he now works for the Media Development Loan Fund which provides low-cost capital and management know-how to independent news outlets in emerging democracies.

    He draws on his publishing experience to develop media management strategies that help independent publishers reach financial sustainability. These strategies have already helped strengthen independent news operations in emerging democracies in Asia, Central America, and south-eastern Europe.

    He also advises companies who wish to explore new models of philanthropy in the framework of their corporate social responsability strategies.
